why i love my wife #922

doo.gif

i arrived home to find the wife sporting a new doo, still fresh from the stylists chair. a grand departure from the previous doo, from long and curly to short and straight. one might even call it sassy. both she and I were pleased with the new doo, a rare coincidence.

the next morning, confused and intimidated by the tools required to maintain the new doo, she reverted to the previous doo. but now the hair is shorter, I believe the effort to create the old doo with the shorter length actually takes more time and effort than learning the new doo.

so, it looks kinda funny.

ultranote - no, my wife is not cher, my wife is much hotter. the cher images were used only to illustrate the story. actually, my wife and cher do share some undeniable similarities. both have two nostrils centrally located on their head, and both have eyes above the nose and a mouth below. i know, scary coincidence eh? but only one has a prehensile tail (look closely at the turn back time video on the navy boat).

more doodles from the airport. too much time in airports makes me believe the shapes of luggage are interesting. surely an early sign of insanity.

luggage 1 - luggage 2 - luggage 3

raising geeks

trike.gif

i asked my wife where she found an apple sticker to put on the back of son 2's tricycle. she had no idea what i was talking about. it made my day, but i still wonder where he found the sticker.

stealing me

Glass.gif

pictured above is a pile of broken glass where my travel bag was only hours earlier. the bag contained my ibook laptop, two sketch books, a digital camera, a usb drive, shoes, pants, etc.

the police found the bag discarded only a few hundred yards from my car. it contained everything but the ibook. so, that sucks. most files were backed up except for some of the kids birthday photos and a few personal projects i had been working on. oh well.

obviously i would like the computer back, but i am very relieved to get the sketchbooks back. monetarily they are worth nothing, a few hundred drawings, none more than 20 minutes of effort (many documenting the time spent in airports during this project i am on). In the few hours when i believed all was lost, the sketch books bothered me the most. it was not just a theft, but a personal attack. I felt nauseous Until their return.

I hope the criminal enjoys the 4 hours of battery life, since he left the power cords in the bag. I also hope he enjoys the antiquated 800 x 600 screen, the cd drive held shut with tape and the cracked plastic case. He might be able to sell it for $150 if he is lucky.

meanwhile, does anyone have a need for freelance design help that would coincidentally cost about the same as a new ibook?

EscapeMaze.gif

all work and no play makes ultramicroscopic a dull blog. work has become all consuming. nearly all thoughts are work related. recurring dreams of defining information architecture are slowly leading me to insanity. my brain is using every moment both awake and asleep to find a way out of this maze.
